You don’t need to know exactly what you need before you reach out. Our job is to help you figure that out. Here’s exactly what happens after you submit the form.
We receive your enquiry
Your form goes straight to our practice team — not an answering service. Sarah or Bethany will review your enquiry personally.
We call you within 1 business day
A member of our team will ring you for a brief, no-pressure conversation. We'll ask a few questions to understand what you're looking for and match you with the right psychologist.
We book your first appointment
You will be placed on our waitlist and our team will touch base regularly. Your first session is 50 minutes — focused on getting to know you and understanding your situation, not pressure to commit to anything.
You meet your psychologist
No homework, no pressure. Just a conversation with someone who genuinely wants to help — and a clear plan for moving forward at the end of your session.
You don’t have to have it all figured out before you reach out. If you’re not sure whether you need psychology, what type of support is right, or whether your situation is serious enough — that’s exactly what our intake conversation is designed to help you work out.

Common Questions
answered
A few things people commonly want to know before they reach out for the first time.
Do I need a GP referral to make contact or book?
No — you can contact us and book an appointment without a GP referral. Many of our clients self-refer. A referral (Mental Health Care Plan from your GP) is only needed if you’d like to access Medicare rebates on your sessions. If you’re unsure, our team can talk you through it when you call.
What's the difference between the Douglas and Railway Estate clinics?
Both clinics offer the same services and team access. The main difference is location — Douglas is in the northern suburb near the medical precinct, while Railway Estate is more central to the Townsville CBD. When you book, let us know which is more convenient for you and we’ll match you accordingly.
Is everything I share kept confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of psychological practice and is governed by AHPRA’s professional standards. Information you share with your psychologist is kept strictly confidential. There are limited legal exceptions — for example, if there is risk of serious harm — which your psychologist will explain at your first session. Our admin team also handles your information with strict privacy protocols.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
You will initially be placed on our waitlist and our team will keep in touch leading up to your appointment.
Contact us as soon as you’re ready and we’ll find the soonest available slot. If you have urgency, please mention this when you call.
I'm enquiring on behalf of my child. Is that okay?
Yes, parents and guardians are required to book for their children. If they are over 16 years they can book for themselves. Advise us of the child’s age and what you’re seeking support for, and our team will match you to the right psychologist. We work with children and adolescents regularly and can explain what to expect at the first session for both you and your child.
