What we work through in every session
Assessment Skills
Reece holds the full range of psychometric assessments needed to achieve competency. You'll develop real skills in selecting, administering, scoring and interpreting assessments across presentations and age groups.
Ethical Decision-Making
Building confident, independent ethical reasoning is central to becoming a great psychologist. We work through real ethical dilemmas together — not just the rules, but how to apply them clearly when it matters.
Interventions Across the Lifespan
Building confidence in applying evidence-based interventions with children, adolescents, adults and families. Reece's caseload spans the full age range and he draws on that breadth directly in supervision.
Reflective Practice
Developing awareness of how your own experiences, values and reactions shape your clinical work. This is the foundation of long-term growth as a clinician.
Case Conceptualisation
Working through complex or stuck cases to understand what's happening clinically and what the right response is — building the formulation skills that underpin everything else.
Performance Psychology
(For early career and registered psychologists)
Working with athletes, teams, performance anxiety, career transitions and the specific demands of high-performance environments.
- WHO CAN ACCESS SUPERVISION
Supervision for practitioners
at every stage
Whether you’re a provisional psychologist working toward general registration or a registered practitioner seeking development in performance psychology — there’s a format that fits.
Provisional Psychologists
This is where most of Reece's supervision work happens. If you're on the 5+1, or Higher Degree (Masters/Doctorate) pathway, Reece can supervise you through all eight core competencies required for general registration. Formal logs, competency documentation and progression support are all provided.
Registered Psychologists
Reece works with early-career psychologists and experienced practitioners who want to continue developing their skills and practice across the lifespan — from children and adolescents through to adults.
Regional & Interstate Practictioners
Telehealth supervision is available for psychologists outside Townsville. Psychology Board guidelines permit remote supervision, and it works well in practice. If quality supervision is hard to find near you, telehealth is a genuinely good option.
Group Supervision (2 - 4 Supervisees)
Small group supervision for 2–4 practitioners. Great for peer learning, case diversity, and shared professional development in a cost-effective format.
- Registration Pathways
Which pathway
are you on?
Supervision is available to provisional psychologists on all recognised registration pathways.
5 + 1 Pathway
Honours or a graduate diploma in psychology, followed by one year of Board-approved supervised practice.
Higher Degree Pathway
Masters or Doctorate in Psychology with integrated supervised practice hours completed during the degree program.
Comprehensive Supervision for Registered Psychologists
Supervision for registered psychologists working across a diverse range of presentations, extending beyond performance psychology. A thoughtful and tailored approach, supporting clinicians to navigate complex client work, deepen their practice, and continue developing with clarity and confidence.
All pathways require one hour of supervision for every 17.5 hours of supervised practice, in line with the Psychology Board of Australia requirements. We'll review your specific requirements at the start and build a schedule that meets them.
- Our Supervision Philosophy
How we approach
every supervision relationship.
Good supervision is a genuine professional relationship — not a compliance exercise. Here’s how Reece approaches every session.
Strengths-Based and Honest
We start from what you’re already doing well and build from there. Good supervision requires both psychological safety and honest feedback — you’ll always leave knowing where you stand and what to work on next.
Responsive to Your Caseload
Supervision is driven by what’s actually happening in your clinical work, not a fixed script. We bring structure where it helps and flexibility where you need space to think through what’s genuinely in front of you.
Developmentally Matched
How we work together shifts as your skills and confidence grow. Early in your placement you need something very different from what you’ll need at the end of it — and supervision should reflect that. The level of support, challenge and independence Reece offers adapts as you develop.
Ethically Rigorous
Ethical decision-making is a standing part of every session, not an afterthought. We work through real dilemmas together using clear reasoning frameworks — because the ability to make sound ethical decisions independently is one of the most important things you’ll develop as a clinician.
Genuine Investment in Your Development
Supervision with Reece is a real professional relationship. He is personally invested in your development as a clinician — your growth, your confidence, and the outcomes you achieve with your clients. That’s what makes this worthwhile for everyone.
Supervision is provided in accordance with AHPRA Psychology Board requirements, including the requirement for one supervision session for every 17.5 hours of supervised practice.

Supervision
FAQs
Questions about Board requirements, what supervision looks like in practice, or whether our supervision is right for your pathway?
Is Reece an AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor?
Yes. Reece Danaher holds Board Approved Supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia. Supervision provided by Reece meets the formal requirements for provisional psychologists on all registration pathways, as well as for registered psychologists completing continuing professional development. All supervision documentation is maintained to Board standards.
What are the Board's requirements for supervision frequency?
For provisional psychologists on the 5+1 pathway, the Psychology Board of Australia requires a minimum of one hour of supervision per 17.5 hours of supervised practice — typically fortnightly for a standard internship. For registered psychologists, ongoing supervision requirements vary by context and employer. We’ll review your specific requirements at the outset and design a supervision schedule that meets them fully.
Can I access supervision via telehealth if I'm not based in Townsville?
Yes. We provide supervision via secure telehealth to psychologists across regional Queensland and interstate. Psychology Board of Australia guidelines permit supervision to be delivered remotely, and we have considerable experience providing effective telehealth supervision. If you’re in a regional or remote area with limited access to specialist supervisors — particularly in performance psychology — telehealth supervision with us is an excellent option.
What does a typical supervision session look like?
Sessions are structured but flexible. We typically begin with a brief check-in on your clinical week, then move into case discussion, ethical reflection, and skills development as relevant. For provisional psychologists, we’ll also regularly review competency progress against your internship plan. Sessions are recorded in a supervision log that we both sign, documenting content, hours, and competencies addressed. You’ll always leave with something concrete to take back to your practice.
Do you offer supervision in performance psychology specifically?
For registered psychologists looking to develop their skills in performance psychology, Reece offers focused professional supervision drawing on his work with elite athletes and professional sporting organisations across North Queensland.
This supervision is suited to psychologists seeking to expand their practice into performance psychology contexts, including individual athletes, sporting teams, and high-performance environments.
